Potato Pancakes

Preparation:

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes. Finely grate together with the onions. Put both into a large bowl. Add the egg, bread crumbs, salt and pepper, and mix thoroughly.

  2. Put a pan on the hob and heat on high. Add the lard and melt it. Put three small ladles of the batter beside each other in the pan and bake from both sides until golden yellow. Remove from the pan and allow to drip off on paper towel. Repeat the process until all the batter is used up.

  3. Arrange on a plate and serve. Goes very well with apple compote.
